New Guitarist!!!

Dearest friends of Von Doom,

I just want to start by saying how very thankful we are of our fans. The CD release party was an amazing night, and the energy and enthusiasm you all showed blew us away! Also, a huge thank you to Beyond The Red Horizon, Dusks Embrace, Othrys, and Titarius for coming out to celebrate the release of our new demo (and also for playing fantastic sets!!!). Of course, thanks are also due to Tricialicious, BAMF Studios, The Metal Network, The Jade Mermaid Tattoo Parlor, and Apple Music Row for helping us get the word out about the show! It was an evening we will never forget! Fuck yeah!!!

Also, the response we have received about our new demo so far has been very positive, and we thank you all for listening and spreading the word! Keep passing on the tunes in any way you can!

We have some exciting news for you all! We are pleased to announce the official induction of Reuben Valdez (formally of From Ashes/Dissension) into the Von Doom family! His experience as a guitar player, exemplary attention to detail, and overall musicianship is inspiring. We are very anxious to get started writing with him! So, that being said, here is the updated line-up:

Greetings and salutations one and all! It is time, once again, for an update on all things Von Doom!

We in Von Doom have been very busy and have many things that are in the works, but first we must announce that we have been confirmed as the opening act for a national band by the name of...

Triptykon!

Mike Thrasher Presents: Triptykon, 1349, Yakuza, Ceremonial Castings, and Von Doom @ Hawthorne Theatre on Friday, October 22nd! We will be selling advance tickets for this show at the price of $18, so please contact us so we can set up a way for you to get a ticket from us, otherwise you will be paying $22 the day of the show! All ages!!! The show starts at 7PM, with us going on stage shortly after, so please show up early!

On top of this show, we are playing a big house party on Halloween weekend at BAMF Studios! Friday, October 29th, join us, Seeds of Corruption, Titarius, and Ninja! This will be a free show, and is BYOB. All ages are allowed, however, if you below the age of 21, the BAMF House asks that you do not consume any alcohol before or during the show. Also, as this will be Halloween weekend, dressing up in your Halloween outfit is highly encouraged!

As you may know, we have been working on our new demo at BAMF Studios, and everything is going very well! Drum tracking has been completed, and everything is sounding great! We have been documenting the recording process of the entire demo, and are uploading the videos to our YouTube channel (http://www.youtube.com/vondoomtv)! Be sure to swing by the channel and subscribe to be kept up to speed on the progress of this new demo! Also, if you or someone you know is looking to record an album, EP, demo, etc., do yourself a favor and contact BAMF Studios. These guys are the real deal, and it is only a matter of time before these guys dominate the Portland Metal/Rock scene!

Our search for the next rhythm guitarist of Von Doom continues, and we encourage you, or whoever you might know that is interested, to get in contact with us to set up an audition! Here's the requirements that we need any applicants to consider:

- Must be 21 years of age or older.

- Have reliable, professional gear (at least two guitars, a half-stack, etc.).

- Have reliable form of transportation.

- Be able to attend at least two practices a week in our North Portland practice space, on top of show dates.

- Prior band/stage experience helpful.

- Experience in lead guitar helpful, but not necessary.

Brandon's Departure/Seeking New Rhythm Guitarist!

Fans/friends of Von Doom,

Brandon Feneide, our Rhythm Guitarist for nearly two years, will no longer be sharing the stage with us. Brandon has taken the liberty of preparing a statement, in which he explains the reasons why he will be leaving, as well as the reason why we had to cancel our acoustic performance on July 31st:

"Dear fans, friends, and family of Von Doom... it is with much sadness and regret that I inform you I will be departing Von Doom. This decision is purely for the well being of the band, as I have been unable to meet my obligations to my bandmates. I have been going through some personal hardships recently that have left me unmotivated, unenergetic, and depressed, which is completely the opposite of what Von Doom stands for. I need to take a break from music and focus on repairing my life, as I have made many mistakes and have no one to blame but myself. I'm sorry to disappoint you all, but Von Doom is going to kick ass with or without me, and they have my love and support one hundred percent. On another note, I was unable to make our acoustic show at the Hawthorne and let a lot of you down. For this I sincerely apologize and take full responsibility for the cancellation, as it was solely my fault. Thank you all for your support and love. These last two years have been amazing!" - Sincerely, Brandon D. Feneide

As you might have guessed, in light of Brandon's departure, we will be searching for a new Rhythm Guitarist!

We gig regularly, have a solid following, and are about to enter the studio to record a new demo. We have had the pleasure of opening for such bands as: Behemoth, Septicflesh, Lightning Swords Of Death, Those Who Lie Beneath, Almost Is Nothing, All I Ask, Prime Minister Sinister, Our Own Blood, Neversleep, Titarius, and many others! We also plan on touring within the next year. Our influences include Lamb Of God, Killswitch Engage, Sylosis, Amon Amarth, All That Remains, God Forbid, and many others!

Here’s what we are looking for in our next rhythm guitarist:

Von Doom Returns Summer 2010!

The wait for Von Doom to return to live action is almost over! We have begun to prepare brand new material, as well as some older material, and we can't wait to get back out there and perform for you all! The way things are shaping up, we should be ready by late May/early June. We will be posting show dates very soon, so be sure to check back shortly and take a look at our concert schedule.

Update/Second Sight Revisited

..Greetings to all of our crazy fans/friends out there! It's been quite a while since we let you guys in on what Von Doom been up to, so let's get you all up to speed:

First off, albeit a little bit belated (at least as far as blogs go), we owe a big thank you to all of you who showed up to support us at our last couple of shows in January! Those were some big shows for us, and we will never forget them!

As you all may or may not have known, the shows last January were the last shows we could pull off for a while, as our drummer, Justin, has been getting ready to move back to Portland permanently, and needs time to do so. Just to reassure you all, the plans have not changed, and we hope to see Justin back very soon.

However, we do have something for you all to sink your teeth into until our inevitable return. Our vocalist, Jason Hooker, decided to take a crack at some of our older tracks to give you guys a picture of what to expect from Von Doom, just in case you didn't manage to catch us at one of our shows since his arrival.

In light of the occasion, our good friend Dave Wolfe of DMW Recording, decided to totally remix and remaster the original instrumental tracks from our "Second Sight" EP, throwing Jason's vocals on the mix as well. The end result is some of the best quality Von Doom recordings yet, and we are excited for you to hear these tracks! (Message us if you are interested in doing business with Dave Wolfe of DMW Recording!)

"Second Sight Revisited" will be made available at our official website, http://www.vondoomband.com, within the week, for free download! We encourage everyone to download these tunes, burn them, share them, do anything and everything you can to help us get this music out there! Also, we will be making this music available for streaming on our Myspace page, on our Pure Volume page, and on our signmeto.roadrunnerrecords.com page. Links to these websites are posted below.

I know, I know, so it's not NEW music, but it's something to help get you guys psyched for the return of Von Doom. We have been writing music faster than we ever have as a band, so we will have plenty of new tunes for you all when we get back. Be ready for the heaviest, most brutal Von Doom yet!

On top of writing new material and getting the tracks ready for you all, we have also been working on new designs for upcoming Von Doom merch, updating our gear, and creating new web pages for the band, including our upcoming YouTube channel, "VonDoomTV"! We have some fun plans brewing for this one, such as interviews, performances, music, and some other surprises you won't want to miss out on! We will let you know once this thing is truly up and running.

In other news, we will be having our first ever interview with Alloy Podcast next week, as they will be the first media to play "Second Sight Revisited" on their program. We will keep you all informed on when you can download/watch this podcast.

We are pleased to announce to you all that we are squeezing in one more show date before going in to our 3-4 month writing period!!!

On Monday, January 18th, at the Hawthorne Theatre, we will be playing our first ever show supporting a national touring band! Who might this band be, you might ask?

We have the pleasure of welcoming Black/Death Metal legends Behemoth as they take the stage with Septicflesh, Lightning Swords of Death, and Those Who Lie Beneath! Show Announcement!!!

Greetings all,

I am excited to report to you all that we have a confirmed show for Friday, January 15th @ Satyricon! We will be sharing the stage with our original drummer Justin Vaughn, for a night of brutality you simply must be a part of! Also, we shall be sharing the stage with fellow Metalheads Titarius and Portland rockers Apophis Theory, so get ready for a night of Metal you won't soon forget! Tickets are $8 at the door, and this will be an all ages event!

This show will also possibly be the last show you see us for the next few months, as we will be going into heavy writing mode, as well as awaiting the permanent return of our brother, Justin. So, if you have not seen us before, and even if you have, January 15th is a great time to see us!

January 15th Show Cancelled/Help Us Out!

Happy new year to all of you Von Doom fans and friends out there!

Our January 15th performance with Of Aeons And Espers has been cancelled for reasons concerning the other band. This is unfortunate, as we were very excited to jam with those guys again.

However, this will not keep us from getting an all ages show going! We are keeping the dates of January15th-20th open to set up a show so we can all celebrate the welcoming of Justin Vaughn. If any of you out there happen to know of any shows you can include us in during the dates of January 15th-20th, please let us know, but it must be all ages, as we want everyone possible to make it out!

We'll keep you all posted on when our next show may be. Rest assured, there WILL be one. Even if it is in someone's back yard!!!

December Shows/Some Awesome News

Hello to all of you crazy fans and friends of ours. Here's some updates for you all:

Our plans to arrange for a fill-in drummer for our December shows did not work out as well as we had hoped. We had to cancel our last show on December 10th, and we regret to inform you all, bands and fans alike, that we will not be able to play our scheduled performance on December 18th. We were looking forward to playing each of those shows, as we were expecting good turn-outs, and awesome opportunities to play with our other musically talented friends, but sometimes things don't go as planned. We promise to make it up to all the venues/bands/fans who were as excited as we were for those shows. Only a matter of time...

Now, here's the good news:

Our original drummer, Justin Vaughn, will be joining us for an awesome evening of Metal with our friends Of Aeons and Espers on January 15th!!! It will be the first time on stage with Justin in almost a year, and we could not be more excited!

Celebrating their manager's 18th birthday, Of Aeons and Espers are hosting a party somewhere in Vancouver, WA, and have asked us to be one of the special guests to perform with them! More details about this show will be posted as we receive information. We encourage everyone to make it out to this show, as we are confident it is going to be one of our best performances yet.

What about after January 15th, you might ask? What does the future hold for Von Doom?

We have plans to bring Justin back on as our full-time drummer, hopefully around April, if everything works out as intended. Until then, we will be working on new material, and possibly be looking for a temporary drummer until Justin can reclaim his position in the band. If any of you know anybody that would be interested in a temporary position, please let us know!

As usual, you will all be informed of any new information as it arises.

For reasons that shall remain private at this time, Dan Ruelas will no longer be drumming for Von Doom. However, this will not effect our plans to play our December/January shows, as we are currently lining up a fill-in for our drumming position to fulfill our obligations. More Show Dates/Update

Greetings to all eager Von Doom fans and friends! Here's what's new with Von Doom:

The wait for the return of Von Doom to the stage is almost over! Our first show back in almost eight months is on Oct. 20th, which is just around the corner! This will be our only all ages show for a little while, so all of you underage fans out there, this show is the one for you! We will keep you all posted on any all ages shows to come.

Besides our new line-up's debut on Oct. 20th, we have many more shows coming up, including our first out-of-town show in Milwaukie, OR at the Oak Grove Tavern with Titarius on Oct. 24th. This will be a free show, so come on down and have a drink with us! After that, on Oct. 28th, we kick off the night at the Ash Street Saloon in Downtown Portland with Prime Minister Sinister and Shelter Red. Then, on November 14th, Von Doom visits Vancouver, WA, as we take the stage at Pepper's Taqueria & Bar with Excruciator and Fates Collide (Mexican food, booze, and Metal...a perfect combo). Shortly after, Von Doom returns to the Hawthorne Theatre on November 18th for a "4 bands for $4" concert (21 & Over) featuring Ex Nihilo, Excruciator, and Seclorum. Finally, on December 10th, Von Doom arrives at the Tonic Lounge with Vancouver, WA Metalheads From Ashes and instrumental progressive hard-rockers Whether. More dates are in the works, and as usual, we will be letting you all know where Von Doom goes next.

Our newest members, Dan and Jason, have been working very hard to make things sound awesome, and they have been doing just that. We are sure that the new material we will be debuting at our next show will not disappoint.

Von Doom's New Vocalist/Now Booking Shows!

Von Doom fans and friends, the wait for new developements is over! Here's what's going on:

The search for our new vocalist has officially ended! After many auditions, all of whom showcased great potential and talent, we decided on a man whos drive, initiative, and overall great talent could not be overlooked. Jason Hooker, the man who was our "behind-the-scenes" guy, creating our graphic design work, primarily, is now the new voice of Von Doom! This charismatic, energetic, and overall killer chap will no doubt help to usher in a new dawn for this band. We hope to be recording footage of our new frontman at work very soon, so keep checking back for new developements!

Our new drummer, Dan Ruelas, has been kicking ass on both old and new material, and we cannot wait to get on stage again to show you all just how far we are coming! Dan has been staying true to the old material, so fans of our former drummer Justin's intricate nuances will be pleased. The new material we are working on has a lot of really aggressive energy, and Dan has been really helping to bring that out. You will all get a chance to see for yourself very soon. Which brings me to the next subject...

Von Doom Seeks Vocalist!

Due to circumstances beyond the control of either the band or himself, Christian Collins has stepped down as vocalist. We wish him the best and we hope to see him again once Von Doom hits the town again.

That being said, it is time to begin the search for Von Doom's new vocalist! Do you or anyone you know have great talent for Metal-style vocals? Drop us a line at vondoomband@hotmail.com or send us a message via our myspace page! Here's what we are looking for in our next vocalist:

- A good screaming range (lows, mids, higs). Singing with heat is a plus.
- Stage experience is also a plus. Great energy is a must.
- Must be able to attend two or more practices each week in North Portland.
- Professional equipment is a plus (i.e. microphones, PA, etc.).

Influences: Lamb of God, Killswitch Engage, All That Remains, Shadows Fall, Trivium, etc.

Von Doom - The New Line-Up

Hello again to all of our loving fans/friends out there! It's been a while since you have all had an update on the workings of Von Doom, and we have quite the update to give!

The search for our new drummer has ended, and we are proud to announce the arrival of former Destination: Oblivion drummer Dan Ruelas to the ranks! We believe that he is the perfect fit for tackling the heavy duties of learning the old songs, as well as getting our latest material ready. He looks forward to meeting and rocking out with you all very soon!

Our new material is going in a fresh new direction. So many influences are starting to show in our new music, which got all of us in the band considering what could make our music sound the most alive, the most dynamic, and above all, the most brutal it can be. Which brings us to the latest change in the band:

Ali Dika, our vocalist of nearly two years, will no longer be performing with us. With Ali we have played approximately fifteen shows, recorded our debut EP, and established the band we have worked so hard to make. This was an entirely professional decision, and was in no way based on any sort of personal grudge between the band and Ali. We greatly appreciate all the work he put into this band, and his work/material will not go without notice. We wish him luck on his future endeavors, and hope that he finds success.

It is with tremendous excitement that we announce the arrival of former Our Own Blood vocalist Christian Collins to the band as our new vocalist! His abrasive, aggressive, and energetic vocal and live performance style is exactly what we know will be the perfect compliment to our new songs, as well as breathe new life into the old. He cannot wait to get on stage again, and neither can we!

We will keep you all posted on when you can hear new material from the new Von Doom line-up, as well as when we will be having our first show. Keep your eyes peeled!

Justin's Departure/Zsentient Podcast

Hello to all friends and fans out there on the interwebs! Here's the latest on Von Doom:
It is with displeasure and sadness that we report to you all that Justin Vaughn, the master of the sticks that we have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with show after show, will be stepping down from his position in the band. We wish him the best of luck in Colorado, soon to be his new home.
With the departure of Justin at hand, it is time to hold auditions for the next drummer of Von Doom! If you or anyone you know think you have what it takes, please message us, respond to this blog, or e-mail us at: vondoomband@hotmail.com. Here's some of the specifications for our applicants to consider:
- Proficient in fast double-bass pedaling
- Must be able to learn all material thoroughly (isolated drum tracks will be provided)
- Must be able to attend practices (located in North Portland) every Wednesday morning and Thursday afternoon, at the least
- Gear will be provided at practice space (gear is based on a "if you break it, you must replace it" philosophy)

Hello to all! Here's an update on the workings of Von Doom:

As you may or may not have heard, our debut EP "Second Sight" is now available! A big thanks goes to Jason Hooker and Dave Wolfe for making this all possible. Without you guys, there would be no EP, and it would be a lot harder to be "Von Doom". A thanks also goes out to all of you who showed up to the CD release party and/or bought the EP, Raina and Kaycee for helping out that night, and big props to Brandon (the newest addition to the band) for tearing it up on stage (everything sounded massive!). The release party was a great time, and there will be pictures of the show posted soon.

Our brothers in Metal, Our Own Blood, are throwing their CD release party at the Hawthorne Theatre on Saturday, January 31st, and we anticipate an awesome night of Metal crazyness, so try not to miss this one! Check out the concert calander for more info!

We also have another show coming up on Thursday, February 26th @ the Satyricon. Tickets will be $8 from any one of us or $10 at the door. More information will be posted on the concert calander when all of the bands are confirmed. As usual, I will let you all know when that happens.

Happy Friday everyone! We got some more updates for you about the new E.P. "Second Sight":

Jason Hooker has once again outdone himself for us. As you may know, Jason Hooker graciously accepted our offer to do our album art work after his impressive work with our first t-shirt (see our "Designs" album), which amazed everyone. Today, we have for you what is the "rough" version of what the art work will be for this E.P. (be sure to give a HUGE shout-out to Jason if you dig this!):

"Second Sight" will contain the following tracks:

1. Thirst Within

2. The Human Condition

3. We Will Fight

4. Be Broken

5. Straight Line Horizon

The tracks will be offered for individual sale online on our myspace page (and hopefully other web sites) either before or slightly after the release of the disc which will be January 15th. The disc itself will either run for $3 or $4 (we still are waiting to estimate the cost to us), and will be distributed for sale at our shows, online, and hopefully at your favorite local music store. More details on that will be announced when all of that becomes official.

The EP/Big Show Coming Up!

Hello again all Von Doom fans and friends! We have some exciting news to share with all of you:

We are excited to report to you all that the recording for our new E.P. is now complete! It has been a long hard process (spanning from September-December), and we are anxious to show all of you just what we can put together.

We now have a release date and title for the new E.P. "Second Sight" will be released on Thursday, January 15th, 2009. It is with this announcement that we would also like to inform you all of what is shaping up to be one of the biggest shows in this band's history: Von Doom's CD Release Party at the Hawthorne Theatre featuring Our Own Blood, Livevil, Righteous Indignation, and Extractor! This is also be held on January 15th in commemoration of our first release. The show begins at 8pm and is only $8 at the door. We hope to see you all there as this will be one of the best shows we have ever been a part of!

Also, in case you have not heard already, we will be playing at the Satyricon for the fourth time on December 11th. The show starts at 6:30pm, and tickets are still $8 in advance, and $10 at the door. There is going to be a special raffle at this show, so come on down and check it out!

New member Announcement/Show Scheduled!

Hello to all of our fans out there! Here's the latest:

We are pleased and excited to announce the arrival of our new rhythm guitarist Brandon Feneide. He has great technique and really knows his stuff! We can't wait for you all to see what he can do when he is ready! We will be setting up a new photo shoot soon, so keep an eye out for when we post the new pics!

We have another show coming up on December 11th at, you guessed it, the Satyricon! Check out our concert calendar for more info! We would really like for you all to attend this show as we need to raise the funds to release our E.P.!

We just began tracking vocals for the E.P. this week! We are doing our best to make sure this E.P. will be something worth checking out and passing around, so get ready! Jason Hooker is currently working on the art work, and we cannot wait to see what he can do with this! We hope to begin mastering of this project within the next couple of weeks, thanks to our awesome friend David Wolfe, so keep your eyes peeled for any announcements!

More Good Times!

You wanted some news from Von Doom? Here's the low-down:

We had a great time last week when we played two shows in a row! We would like to thank all of you who made it out to the show at the Satyricon, as well as the other performers, and we would especially like to thank all of our friends at The Candy Store for letting us come down and party with our friends Righteous Indignation and Our Own Blood! The highlight of that week, without a doubt, was being able to crank it out with our favorite local bands/people in Portland (which will now and forever be known in Portland as the Northwest Metal Tri-fecta, or Tri-Force). We can't wait to share the stage with our brothers in Metal again (sooner than you all think)! Pics of both shows will be posted soon.

The currently untitled E.P. is coming along great! We are wrapping up the guitar solos this week, then we are on to the bass next week! This promises to be a great collection of songs, and we can't wait to release this disc to the public soon (can you say RELEASE PARTY?!).

Von Doom is still seeking out a Rhythm Guitarist! If you or someone you know would like to audition, please let us know so we can set up a date and time.

Good Times/Bad Times

Hello again to all of you devoted fans and friends out there! Here's the latest from Von Doom:

We are sorry to report to you all that Rhythm Guitarist Adam Morris will no longer be playing with us. However, this will not detour us from playing the shows we are scheduled to perform (Oct. 16th and 17th), nor will it keep us from playing shows in the future.

If you are interested in auditioning for the Rhythm Guitar position, or if you know someone who you think would fit the bill, please contact us and let us know!

Much progress is being made on the E.P. Guitar tracks are still in the works (it will be worth the wait!) and we cannot wait for you to hear what we have in store for you! Keep your eyes open for updates on this project as there will be many.

Come on down to one of the two shows this October! We will be playing at the Satyricon on the 16th (show starts at 6:30pm, with Von Doom at 8pm; tickets are $8 from us or $10 @ door) and at The Candy Store on the 17th (show starts at 8:30pm with Von Doom at 8:45pm; cost is $5 at the door, and this show will be a pre-halloween pirate themed party; 21+). Also, a big thank you to all of our fans and friends who have been buying up the Von Doom t-shirts. We will be having these shirts available at our shows (in sizes YL-5XL, $15), but if you would like for us to sell you one via internet, lease message us so that we can make an arrangement for that. I just got off the phone with Billy about a half an hour ago. He tells me Adam has put up the white flag while leaving the kitchen of metal to avoid the heat. Dude...
So he isn't with us any more, his name no longer credited, and his image photoshoped from the biopic.

The shows will go on though, I did ask to make sure. I found a little bit more out about some of the upcoming shows but still not much regarding the Candy Store show. I'll probably end up calling them.

Hello again devoted fans and friends alike! Here's the latest:

Last Friday we were given the opportunity, in a very last-minute fashion, to take part in a show put on by Project Independent at Mt. Tabor Legacy. A big apology to those who would have liked to make this show. We had no idea we were even going to do this show until the day before it happened! A big thank you to those dedicated few who made it out, who also make it to all the shows (you know who you are!), and also a big thank you to the bands we had the privilege of sharing the stage with (Our Own Blood, A.K.A. White Devil, Proven, Ninetail). We were glad to attract the attention of new people and we hope they all make it out to a future show! August took the liberty of taking photos of this event which will be posted shortly.

The E.P. is coming along smoothly. So far we have guitar tracks (excluding solos) completed for two songs. Even without the material being properly mixed and balanced it still sounds great! We will keep you posted on further progress. Keep your eyes peeled!

Hello to all! Time again for another update from your friends in Von Doom:

As you all read in the last post we are currently working on our first five song demo release. We are happy to announce the completion of the drum tracks for all of the songs! Justin is quite proud of the work he has done and it all sounds massive! Work on the rest of the tracks will begin this week. Our good friend David Wolfe will be mixing and mastering our effort, and the amazing Jason Hooker will be designing the cover art for this release as well. This will surely be worth the wait!

We are happy to announce the adding of three shows to our agenda! Two shows in October (16th and 17th) and our first show opening for two national touring acts, The Gates of Slumber and Demiricous, on November 11th. Please check out our concert calander for more information.

Hello to the patient and ever-expanding Von Doom fan base out there! Here's the latest:

Our second visit to the Satyricon was an all-out success, and we would like to thank everyone who made it out to that show. We had a great time and we think that you all had a great time as well. We definately went home with more fans and made a great statement.

We are currently tracking for the brand new demo! We started laying out the drum tracks on 9/4, and we are making great progress. We will keep you posted on a confirmed date for when we will be releasing the demo as well as cover art and track listing info. Keep your eyes peeled!

It has been a while since we have posted a blog concerning what is going on in the Von Doom camp, so it's about time you got the latest news:

These last few months have been spent writing new material and working with our new rhythm guitarist Adam Morris. We can say in total confidence that our new material is our strongest yet, and we can't wait to showcase these new songs along with Adam. He is ready to show you what he can do, and we are anxious for you to see us in action. Which brings me to the next subject...

...another show at the Satyricon! Von Doom returns to the Satyricon on Sunday, August 24th, with quite a few other local acts (see concert schedule for more details). Tickets are $8 from any of us in Von Doom, or you can pay $10 at the door the day of the show. We are also excited to announce that for the first time we are going to be selling brand new Von Doom t-shirts! These are unlike what you see at our Zazzle shop. This shirt features artwork designed by Jason Hooker, who also helped make the band logo. Here's what you will be seeing on that shirt:

In case you haven't heard yet, we posted a recently remastered version of "Thirst Within", mixed by our good friend David Wolfe. We love the difference we hear, and we love the kind of experience that he brings into making Von Doom sound even better. Which brings me to this next subject...

...Von Doom will begin tracking for a brand new five song demo very soon! We have not confirmed a starting date yet, but know that we will be working super hard on this one, so you won't be disappointed with the end result. David Wolfe will be producing this one for us, and Jason Hooker will be designing the cover art for this as well. Hello to all! Here’s the latest from Von Doom:

We had the opportunity to play the Hawthorne Theater and we had a great time. There were a few technical difficulties that night, but it did not stop us from performing to the best of our abilities. Thanks to all who came out that night, and big thanks to August and Spott for taking some awesome pictures and video! We got more pics coming soon, so keep your eyes open.

Von Doom will be returning for the fourth time to Rock N Roll Pizza to play the 3rd Anniversary party on Saturday, April 12th with bands Useless -N- Painless, Still Fire, Leaving the Scene, and others. Post B.O.T.B./Unfortunate News

Here's the latest from the Von Doom camp:

We played the Gorilla Productions Battle of the Bands Finals, and ended up not coming out on top. We at least got the opportunity to make new fans and friends, and we could not be happier about that. Thanks to everyone who went out of their way to make it out to the show. It would not have been the same without you guys (you know who you are!).

Due to lack of demand after the B.O.T.B. show, we have to cancel our show at the Satyricon on the 9th. We did not want to, but it is for the best.

We regret to inform everyone that Robert Hamel has made the decision that he will no longer be playing with Von Doom due to lack of flexibility in his schedule. There is no hard feelings about any of this, and we wish him the best.

Von Doom will still play the Hawthorne Theater show. But, in the mean time, please let all who are interested know that we are now looking for a rhythm guitarist. Please message us at vondoomband@hotmail.com

Salutations all! We hope you are all as well as we have been. Here's the latest from the Von Doom camp:

The show at Rock N' Roll Pizza on February 8th was a good time, and we would like to thank all bands that played, especially our friends in Righteous Indignation and Our Own Blood for the awesome sets they performed! We hope all of our fans and friends had a good time as well.

The time for the Battle of the Bands Finals has come, and we are beyond ready and excited for this show. This is going to be a packed show, and we look forward to playing in front of those familiar with and those new to Von Doom. We promise to deliver an awesome set, and we hope that we come out on top. We of course wish the best of luck for our fellow local bands that are competing for the prize. We hope to see ALL fans and friends to attend this show to back us up!

Battle of the Bands Finals Announcement!

Salutations and a happy mother fuckin' new year to all of you Von Doom freaks out there! Here is the latest from the fold:

After a long wait, a date for the Gorilla Productions Battle of the Bands final round has been announced! This will take place Saturday, March 1st at Rock N' Roll Pizza, and will include winners from past BOTB rounds, including us. We are very excited to be able to take part in this event, and we hope that you all intend to be there to support us. The winner will receive $500 cash, 20 hours in a studio, and record label exposure. The second place winner will get $100 cash and record label exposure as well. Tickets will be going on sale soon, for $8, and you can get them through us. For more information, leave us a comment or message us and we will line you up with some tickets. More details about this show will be announced once we get word, so keep your eyes and ears open.

We are currently in the middle of writing some awesome material, and we cannot wait for you all to hear it. Robert, our newest member and rhythm guitarist, is coming along great! He has learned all of our material and brings an experienced ear with him. We all cannot wait to play another show for you all so you can see it for yourself.

Hello all! Here's the latest from the Von Doom camp:

Thanks to all of you who made it out to our show at the Satyricon on November 15th. It was great playing on the same stage as many various legends. Thanks to all the other bands for showing up and playing a good show. Most of all, a big shout out to Almost Is Nothing for giving us the opportunity to expand our audience. Without those guys, we would not have had the chance to play the Satyricon. Thanks guys!

Battle of the Bands was a total fuckin' blast, and we are proud to say that we came out of it victorious! We are thrilled to have the chance to play at the finals coming soon, and we also feel privilaged to have played the same stage as the other bands before us that night. There were so many good acts, and we respect everyone for their hard work. Specifically we would like to thank Righteous Indignation and Annihilus for their stellar performances that night, and also for their total encouragement. Last, but not least, thank you to all the fans and friends who went out of their way to come and watch us. We love you all!!!

We are delighted to announce the arrival of brand new recordings featuring the newest members Ali Dika and Justin Vaughn. You can check them out on our space if you didn't see them there already. :)

Post-Show Update/Another Show!

Well, after an early morning, and a ton of gear hauling, Von Doom had their first gig at the New Seasons Market Homegrown Music and Arts Festival at the Wonder Ballroom on Sunday, October 7th. We would like to thank all of you who showed up to take pictures, mosh, and just all-out show your support for us. We had a great time, and we hope you enjoyed yourselves as well. There are pictures up from the show, so go check them out and leave us your comments!

With our first show behind us, we would like to announce Von Doom's participation in Gorilla Porduction's Battle of the Bands @ Rock N Roll Pizza. This show will take place on Sunday, November 18th, and will start at 4pm. Eight bands will be taking the stage for the prize of $500, and 20 hours of studio time, which will receive the attention of major record labels! The tickets will be $8 from any member of the band, and $10 at the door the day of the show. We would love to see all of you there to show your support, and we hope you are as excited as we are!

We are now introducing into the Von Doom fold, on vocals, Ali Dika! This guy has pipes, and we are very excited to have him in our project. He will be playing at the October 7th show, so don't miss out!

The Beginning... At Last!

Welcome to the brand new myspace page of Von Doom! As you may have read in the band bio, this band is the continuation of the former Smashgarden project. New name, improved sound, new look, and more importantly, NEW TUNES!!! I hope you like what you see here. A lot of work has been put into this page, the new logos, and the songs. Big thanks to our main man Hooker for creating all the logos (along side Eric) and for setting up the page with me. More improvements will be made as time goes on.

As well as the new page, logos, songs, and name, we have a HUGE concert announcement. Von Doom will be having its first show in almost a year! It will take place October 7th at the Wonder Ballroom as part of the New Seasons Market Homegrown Music and Arts Fair. This is New Seasons Market's first huge festival, and we are excited to take part in this. Not only will we be taking part in it, but Von Doom has the honor of wrapping the night up, sending the audience home with ringing ears and a sore neck. Justin Vaughn will be taking over the drum position on this night, and we can't wait for you all to hear this guy! We take the stage at 11:30pm, but be sure to get there early to insure a good view! There is no ticket price, but donations are encouraged, so bring a few bucks. We hope to see you there!
